Mangaluru, Jun 22, 2018 : DCP Hanumantharaya has informed that four tiger towing vehicles would be brought to Mangaluru to take action against unauthorised parking of vehicles on roadsides.
The DCP was reacting to a query from a member of the public during his 80th phone-in programme at the City Police Commissioner’s Office on June 22, Friday. He said the tender process for procuring the vehicles is presently underway.
Callers complained regarding the parking of vehicles on roadside from PVS to Bunts Hostel and on either side of a restaurant at Kadri hindering smooth vehicular traffic.
A resident from Ekkur appealed for humps at Ekkur Junction where there are some educational institutions.
When a caller complained regarding the troubles faced by public due to slow pace of works at Pumpwell and Thokkottu, the DCP said meetings have been held and the contract companies have assured to complete the works at the earliest.
The phone-in programme received as many as 18 complaints regarding various problems.
ACP Manjunath Shetty and other police officials were present.
