City painters who were forced to work as shepherds in Saudi, return home

Mangaluru, May 27,2017 :  Two youth from the city who went to Saudi Arabia after being promised painter jobs there by their agents and ultimately ended up working as  shepherds  have returned  hometown on May 27, Saturday morning much to joy and relief.

Puneeth from Ganjimutt and Damodar from Mulki were the unfortunate youth who  believed a city based recruitment agency and left for Saudi Arabia with big dreams in their eyes. However in Saudi Arabia their passports were seized by their employer and they had to work as shepherds.

The Indian Social Forum which came forward to help them after their plight was highlighted in media,  contacted the  Saudi Labour Court and Government  and  ensured the release of the duo.

Both  returned by a flight from Dubai and were welcomed by their family members and a few members of the Forum.
