City cops approach CBI for Red Corner Notice against Rashid Malbari

Mangalore, Oct 9, 2014 : The Mangalore Police Commissionerate has addressed a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation through the Criminal Investigation Department of the state, requesting it to issue a Red Corner Notice against Rasheed Malbari, a dreaded criminal who is said to be an  associate of underworld don Chota Shakeel. Malbari has reportedly gone underground after he was released from the Bangalore prison on July 21 this year, upon granting of conditional bail. The suspicion is that he might have fled the nation.

According to City police Commissioner R Hithendra the letter has been sent to the CBI about 15 days ago.

The CCB cops of Mangalore had arrested Malbari in  2009 on the charges of ploying to eliminate some leaders of BJP and Hindu organisations. He was later shifted to Bellary prison from Mangalore and subsequently to Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bangalore.
