Church Attack: Holy Cross Church organizes 3-day prayer and fasting

Mangalore, Sept. 15, 2011: The Holy Cross Church in Kulshekar organized fasting, prayer, and adoration in the church premises on September 12 – 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to urge the government of Karnataka to withdraw the false cases registered against Christian youth during the church attacks of 2008.

The various wards of the parish took turns to conduct one-hour fasting, prayer, and adoration sessions, culminating in a night vigil from 9:00 p.m. on September 14 to 5:30 a.m. on September 15. Msgr. Denis Prabhu, the vicar general, presided over the event and Rev. Fr. Roman Pinto, Bro. T. K. George, and Bro. William conducted the event. The church was packed with devotees on all three days.

Two religious DVDs titled Punaruthan Yesu and Jezuch Dev by Bro. T. K. George were released on this occasion.

Fr. Valerian Pinto, the parish priest; Fr. John Baptist Moras and Fr. Melwyn Noronha, the assistant parish priests; Mr. Praveen Patrao, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Committee; and Mr. George D’Souza, its secretary; and Sushil Noronha were also present.
