Christmas Bounty Celebrations Enhance Festive Spirit

Mangalore, Dec 19: A large number of teams from all over DK participated in the carol singing and star making contests organized as part of the Christmas Bounty, a special Christmas programme organized by Namma TV in collaboration with St. Aloysius High School. The Grand Christmas Carols Contest and the Grand Christmas Star Contest were held in the school premises.

Twelve teams of carol singers participated in the carol singing contest. St. Aloysius College, St. Agnes College, and the team from Vamanjoor Parish bagged the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. Thirty participants took part in the star making contest. Maria Pinto, Movin Pinto, and Lesly Steven Cardoza bagged the first, second, and third prizes, respectively. The first prize, second prize, and third prize winners of each category won a cash award of Rs. 5000, 3000, and 2000, respectively.

Fr. Melvin Pinto, the headmaster of St. Aloysius High School and Suresh Rao Kokkada, the marketing director of Namma TV, gave away the prizes.

The artists of Judha Band, a popular music band of Mangalore, gave a live performance of carols, Baila, and a mixture of Konkani and Western numbers.
