Change of command at headquarters, Coast Guard District N0.3, Karnataka

Mangaluru, Feb 07, 2020: Deputy Inspector General S Babu Venkatesh (1992 batch) has assumed the charge of Headquarters, Coast Guard District No. 3, Karnataka w.e.f. 07 Feb 2020.

The DIG during his nearly three decades of carreer has commanded various class of ships which includes, Fast Patrol Vessel, Offshore Patrol Vessel, Hovercraft and Interceptor Boats.

The DIG has held various Staff appointments which includes, Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration) at Regional Headquarters A&N and Staff Officer to Commander Coast Guard (East) where the officer has effectively ensured administrative framework.

The Officer is specialized in Communication and hold M Phil degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University.

In his address, the DIG said, he will have the priorities in setting the infrastructure for future Coast Guard operational requirement which will boost the safety of Coast of Karnataka.
