Change in departure time of Chennai Mail for 2 weeks

Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2017: Unable to arrange an alternative rake for train no. 12658, KSR Bengaluru City-Chennai Central Mail, the South Western Railway (SWR) has postponed its departure timing to 10 a.m. the next day instead of the scheduled 10.40 p.m., till January 26.

The postponement comes in the wake of continued delayed arrival of train no. 12628, New Delhi-KSR Bengaluru City Karnataka Express since about a month due to thick fog in North India. Karnataka Express’ rake is being used to operate Chennai Mail and hence the postponement.

Additional coaches :  Western Railway will add one additional AC three-tier coach to train no 19260 Bhavnagar-Kochuveli-Express on January 15, January 22 and on January 29.  The coach will be added to train no 19259 Kochuveli-Bhavnagar on January 19, January 26 and on February 2.

Ticket reservation :  The computerised passenger reservation centres of Southern Railway will remain closed in second shift from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday on account of Pongal festival, a release said.
