Mangaluru, June 17, 2018: A literary work entitled "Hennige Varthamanavillave" authored by veteran writer Chandrakala Nandavar was released by another veteran writer B M Rohini at the auditorium of Karavali Lekhakiyara Vachakiyara Sangha on June 17, Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohini said the writings of Chandrakala Nandavar tries to portray the identity and commitment of a woman. Her writings have their own weightage and are far more distinct than the literature that emerges from air conditioned rooms. One need not take to the streets for a fight but can fight for a cause through one’s writings, she further added.
The perception that education to a girl is a waste has changed, there was a time when even some great writers had spoken lightly about women’s literature. It was this that made women determined to find their identity in the literary field, he added.
Lecturer Dr Shaila introduced the book to the audience. Shashilekha B, President of Karavali Lekhakiyara Vachakiyara Sangha, Roopakala Alva, Vijayalakshmi Alva, Vijayalakshmi Bhat and others were present.
