Centre planning to break unity of working class: CPI(M) leader Srirama Reddy

Mangaluru, Dec 17, 2017: CPI(M) State Secretary G V Srirama Reddy has alleged that the Modi Government was  trying to implement a new Labour Welfare Act in place of the existing act to  break the unity of the working class.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 22nd district conference of the  CPI(M) at the AKG Bhavan at Bolar on December 17,  Sunday. The proposed act intends to prevent the labourers from  strengthening their organisation and fighting against injustice, he said.

On the recent violence that hit Uttara Kannada district, Reddy  alleged that the BJP was trying to spread communal hatred  after its parivartana rally has failed.

K R Sriyan, CPI(M) leader presided over the function. Several party leaders including Balakrishna Shetty, Yadava Shetty, Krishnappa Salian, Sunil Kumar Bajal, Vasanth Achari  and others were present.

Earlier senior labour leader Vasu Gatti hoisted the party flag.
