Cattle trafficking : 7 booked for taking law into hands

 Bantwal, Oct 3, 2014 :  Bantwal Police  have booked as many as seven persons in connection with the case of assaulting two cattle traffickers at Poorlippady in Kalladka on October 2. All the accused are said to be from Kalladka area. Even the two cattle traffickers have been booked for illegal cattle transportation.



The injured cattle traffickers are Siddique and Basheer from Kolnadu.  According to sources, two men in a bike and  five others in a pick-up vehicle managed to  close in on the cattle transporting pick-up vehicle forcing its driver to speed forth. However, the driver soon lost control over the vehicle  which overturned injuring the two men inside.

It is learnt, the two were then thrashed by the  men who were following them, when the former tried to escape.

The police who rushed to the spot seized two cows and also the two pick-up vehicles and a bike.

Senior police officials have visited the spot and the case is being probed  under the guidance of Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar. Security in the area has been stepped up by deploying additional police forces.
