Mangaluru, March 14, 2016: Mangaluru Diocese Bishop Rev. Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza has stressed the need for more political representation  to the Christian community.

He was speaking after inaugurating a convention of the members of Catholic Sabha of Mangaluru Diocese held at St Lawrence Church, Bondel on March 13, Sunday. He also urged the members of the community to work selflessly for the well-being of the community.

Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha MP who is also the Founder President of Catholic Sabha said the sacrifices made by several members and the tireless efforts of many have helped the Catholic Sabha to grow to such a stature.

Walter D’Souza, former president of Catholic Sabha, Mangaluru placed forth a request to the Bishop to  provide a land for the construction of a building for the Sabha.

Harinath, newly elected Mayor of Mangaluru and  victorious members in ZP and TP elections were honoured.

Fr Mathew Vas, Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha,  Fr Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest of Bondel Church,  Ivan D’Souza, MLC  and many others were present on the occasion.
