CRPF jawan shoots himself dead near NMPT

Mangalore, Feb 22, 2014 : A CRPF jawan  hailing from  Maharashtra, shot himself dead   near  the NMPT at Panambur on February 22, Saturday.

According to sources, the soldier identified as Sandeep Sarkatte (38)  shot himself in the stomach using a gun  which was in his possession.

It has been reliably gathered that harassment from higher-ups drove him to the drastic step of suicide. Sources indicated that he was not sanctioned leave  by the higher authorities despite his repeated appeals.

The body has been shifted to the hospital for a post-mortem. Panambur police have registered a case and are investigating.
