Speaking to reporters here  on February 24, Friday, G V Srirama Reddy, State Committee  Secretary of the CPI(M) said the  party deplored the  attempts made by the Parivar organisations to prevent the  participation of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the rally.

"The  Sangh Parivar and the BJP have never accepted the  Indian constitution, while Hindutva remains their sole agenda," he alleged.

Criticising the Hindu outfits for  describing the Kerala CM as a merchant of death,   he said this makes their  attitude of twisting history and facts amply clear."The CPI(M) will not get bogged down by threats and attacks. The party is ready for any sacrifice to face the onslaught of fascist forces," he declared.

"Communal elements  gaining an upper hand would be  an insult to the culture of this land where the great  saint philosopher Narayan Guru had set foot. There is a need for the people of the district to  be cautious," he said.

Pointing out that the CPI(M) has fought for the cause of the masses  in the district in the post-independence era, he recalled the party’s fight for the cause of farmers, against atrocities on women, justice for Sowjanya and against Pankti Bedha and Made Snana practices.

V J  K Nair, J Balakrishna Shetty,  CPI(M)  State Secretariat Members, K Yadav Shetty, CPI(M) State Committee member, Muneer Katipalla, DYFI state unit President were also present  at the press meet.
