CPI(M) holds Janagraha protest ; demands solutions to various problems in DK

Mangaluru, Dec 12, 2018 : The DK District unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) organised a Janagraha  protest in front of the DC office here on December 12, Wednesday to demand minimum wages and dearness allowance for beedi workers.

The protestors also demanded solution to  various problems  facing the district including that of sand scarcity as well as the  delay in completion of flyovers at Pumpwell and Thokkottu. The protestors also condemned the ’failure’ of the local MP.

Speaking on the occasion, District CPI(M) Secretary Vasanth Achari highlighted various problems  facing the district including that of the beedi workers. He also accused BJP of resorting to politics over entry of women to Sabarimala shrine.

Party leaders K R Shriyan, Yadav Shetty, Bharathi Bolar and others participated in the protest.
