CPI(M) demands end to practice of Pankti Bheda

Mangalore, May 05, 2014: The Communist Party of India (Marxist)  has demanded immediate steps to ban the practice of Pankti Bheda  in Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt. The party workers also staged a protest in front of the DC office on May 5, Monday condemning the practice.

 

 

CPI(M) leaders KR Sriyan and  Vasanth Achari who addressed the agitators described as inhuman the recent incident reported from the Sri Krishna Mutt wherein a woman belonging to the Bunt community was not served food but was asked to walk out solely for the reason  for being a non-Brahmin.

 Several CPI(M) workers took part in the protest.
