CPI(M) activist’s murder : BJP worker among three booked by cops

Kasargod, Aug 06, 2018: Police have registered cases against three persons including a BJP worker named Ashwath  in connection with the murder of CPI(M) activist Aboobakker Siddique.

 

Preliminary investigations have revealed that  Siddique raising voice against liquor sale had to the murder late night on Sunday.

Twenty one year old Siddique who worked in Qatar had arrived hometown recently.  The assailants have abandoned a bike after eliminating him.

A 15 member team has been constituted under the leadership of  DySP  M V Sukumaran  to nab the assailants. Police have extended their probe to neighbouring Karnataka on suspicion that the assailants might have fled to that state.

Hartal today : An undeclared hartal is being observed in  Manjeshwar taluk today in protest against the murder. Shops and business establishments have shut down and buses too are off the roads. Meanwhile, CPI(M) has called for a bundh from 2 pm today.
