CPI(M) accuses MCC of ‘insulting’ Mother Teresa; stages protest

Mangaluru, June 24, 2015:  The   Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest  in front of the  Milagres Church on June 22, Monday accusing the Mangaluru City Corporation of insulting Mother Teresa  by not putting up a sign board for Falnir Road as Mother Teresa Road.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kumar Bajal, party leader stated that the MCC had not taken any step to place the sign board despite the road being named as Mother Teresa Road since the past 12 years. The MCC which has named several roads after different personalities and had even put up sign boards, has however not done so in case of Mother Teresa Road, he alleged.

He further accused the corporators of the area of remaining apathetic to the issue.

Fr Valerian D’Souza, Parish Priest of Milagres Church,  Fr Francis D’Almeida, the campus minister of St Aloysius College, Yogish Jeppinamugeru and many others participated in the protest.
