CM hails Ullal Dargah as a centre of religious harmony

Mangaluru,April 25, 2015:  Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who inaugurated a Political and Social Conclave organised as part of the Ullal Uroos at the Sayyed Madani Dargah premises  on April 24, Friday recalled the  Padayatra  which his party had organised from the Ullal Dargah to Malpe in the year 2013.

In his inaugural address, the CM hailed Ullal Dargah as a sacred and place of historic   and described it as a centre promoting religious and communal harmony as people  cutting across all faiths visit the Dargah to offer their prayers.

Making a strong case for dealing disruptive forces  with an iron hand, the Chief Minister said fanatical elements have to be cracked down if peace is to prevail in  the society.

“As a Chief Minister it is my utmost responsibility to represent the six crore people of Karnataka irrespective of their caste, creed or faith and my government assures to protect the interests of the people of the entire state,” the CM said.

He also spoke about the government plans to  make Karnataka a state which is free from hunger by offering 30 kg rice at Re 1 per kg to BPL families. There are plans to provide rice to APL card holders at concessional rates, the CM said.
 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister assured to sanction government grants for a proposed community hall at Ullal and also the educational institutions managed by the Ullal Dargah.

 State Health Minister UT Khader  was present as a chief guest and sought grants worth Rs 232 crore   for  a project aimed at providing a permanent solution to the sea erosion problem.

DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, State Minister Roshan Baig, MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, Shafi Sayyedi and many others were present.
