CM Siddarammaih Lay foundation to several development works in Mangaluru

Mangaluru Apr 21, 2016: Honourable Chief Minister Siddarammaih laid foundation for development works under Mangalore City Corporation for Newly built district administrative building, New block of district wenlock hospital, Swimming pool, Police quatress at Town Hall today Thursday April 21.

Speaking on the occasion Siddarammaih said the demand for setting up a government medical college at the Wenlock Hospital in the city will be considered in the next year’s budget. Foundation stone which was laid for the construction of new DC office worth Rs.41 crore as it will be helpful for the people to visit to one complex instead of roaming to one place to another for the completion of the works. It has been responsible of the government to launch development works in the state.

As per the manifesto we were able to live up to the expectation of the people and out of 165 promises, more than 100 promises have been fulfilled. Nearly 1 crore 13 lakh family were supplied free rice in order to make this hunger free state,he added.

Siddarammaih said the demand on expansion of runway at Mangaluru International Airport, widening of road to Airport from Kavoor, ring road from Mulki-Bajpe-Gurupura-Konaje-Kotekaar, facelift to old port will be considered in future.To empower SC/ST Community members, the state government earmarked Rs 19,452 crore in the budget.

District In Charge Minister Ramanath Rai said that, in order to make the hunger free state BPL card holders will supplied with free rice. Credit goes to Siddaramaih to implement such schemes and responded to the cries of weakened, dalit as well as the needy.People are misguided regard to the yettinahole project which also need to rectified.

MLA JR Lobo said that, we need to improve basic facilities at Mangalore International airport and need to upgrade government wenlock hospital in to medical college. Industrial sectors and tourism sector need to be strengthen to produce job opportunity for the youths. Today even the agricultural sector has come down and also there is steep fall in rubber price which has affected the cultivators.

He stressed to sort out the issues regarding sand mafia, 9/11 and Kumki land due to which people are devastated.

District Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim, Minster for Youth Services and Fisheries Abhaya Chandra Jain, Health Minister UT Khader, Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Harinath, Udupi MLA Madhvaraj, Shakuntala Shetty and others were present.
