CCTV systems at 17 stations on Konkan rail

Mangaluru, July 26, 2015 : According to a release by the Konkan Railway,  the Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu was concerned about the safety and security of passengers.  The Konkan Railway would be installing CCTV surveillance system at 17 railway stations on its route.

The Konkan Railway administration is to install CCTV surveillance system at 17 stations — Kolad, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Pernem, Karmali, Canacona, Karwar, Gokarna Road, Bhatkal, Udupi and Surathkal.

 

The installation of CCTV surveillance system at these stations would go a long way in infusing confidence in the travelling public and to ensure the safety and security of both passengers and their luggage.  The CCTV surveillance system is already installed at Thivim and Madgaon stations.
