CCB sleuths arrest 8 Vicky Shetty aides at Tannirbavi

Mangaluru, Dec 5, 2014: Eight persons said to be associates of underworld fugitive Vicky Shetty were arrested near Tannirbavi on December 4, Thursday by the sleuths of the City Crime Branch. Four swords, a machete, three daggers, eight cell phones and a cash of Rs 15,590 were seized from them.

Those arrested are   Manoj Kumar (38)  of Sadashivanagar, Suratkal, Raghavendra alias Raghu (30) of Vamanjoor, Santosh Poojary alias Porlu Santu (33) of Bajal,  Chetan alias Annu (27) of Suratkal,   Varnith Shetty (30) of Hosabettu, Bharathesh (30) of Jeppinamogaru, Naveen alias Michael (26) of Baikampady and  Sandesh Karkera (29) of Suratkal.
 Acting on a tip off that  the accused  who were at Tannirbavi were conspiring to rob a rich  man and also to eliminate a person named Bharathesh from Bokkapatna, the CCB cops rushed to Tannirbavi and succeeded in apprehending the eight persons. It has been gathered that Bharatesh whom they were ploying to kill was an accused in the case of murder of Bejai Raja.

Police said four  of the accused namely Naveen, Sandesh Karkera, Chethan  and Manoj were wanted in the Sandeep murder case at Panambur. Naveen and Manoj were also said to have been involved in the Simon Machado murder case in Suratkal
The arrests were  made by a police team led by CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza and Sub-Inspector Shyamsunder under the directions of City Police Commissioner R Hithendra and the guidance of DCPs Vishnuvardhan and KV Jagadish.
