CCB men raid gambling joints in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 03, 2016: It is reported that sleuths of  CCb, City Crime Branch, of Mangaluru City Police have arrested 24 persons who were involved in gambling at video games centres  at Kuloor and old service bus stations.


gambling 3 Police seized cash and video games machine valued at Rs 1.24-lakh from these twin raids. The accused incidentally are from places in and around the city, neighbouring Udupi district and Bantwal taluk.

City police chief M Chandra Sekhar said the CCB personnel headed by Police Inspector Sunil Y Naik and staff raided Sri Sathyadevata Recreation Club at Kuloor junction and arrested 18 persons who were involved in archery - a game of chance and recovered Rs 27,900 in cash and other equipments used for gambling, all valued at Rs 30,350. The accused were handed over to jurisdictional Kavoor police station for investigations.
