CCB cops arrest burglar ; seize jewellery worth Rs 3.17 lakhs

Mangaluru, Jan 04, 2016:  CCB Police of Mangaluru have arrested  a youth from Belthangady in connection with a  burglary which took place in a house at Beluvai in Moodbidri in December 2013. Gold jewellery weighing 114 grams and a mobile phone, all valued at Rs 3,17,700 have  been seized from the accused.

 

The arrested person is Vighnesh Jogi (26), a resident of Aladangady. The recovered valuables include a gold necklace, karimani chain, three bangles, 2 pair of ear rings, a finger ring and gold chain.

Vighnesh had reportedly burgled the house of Valerian Aranha at Moodaikadu in Beluvai on December 12, 2012 when the occupants were away. He had  gained entry into the house by breaking open the rear door.

Cops arrested Vighnesh out of suspicion on January 3 when he was lurking in the central market area with the intention of selling the stolen jewels.
