CBI books case against MRPL engineer

Mangaluru, Jan19, 2019: The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked a case of disproportionate assets against a General Manager of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).


CBI.According to the FIR, Niranjan Gupta, who joined MRPL as a civil engineer in 1995, at Mangaluru, had assets worth Rs three crore, relatively too large to his known sources of income.


He held had purchased assets in his wife’s name. The CBI informed that Gupta’s wife was a homemaker but had invested in shares. Gupta owned three flats in Mangaluru worth Rs. 1.36 crore, land in Surathkal worth Rs. 16.50 lakh, jewelry worth Rs. 12.50 lakh, two cars worth Rs. 27 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh bank balance.
