Byelection results - BJP to examine - DVS

Mangalore, Aug 27, 2014: Speaking to mediapersons at Koppagate near Kushalnagar on August 26, Union Minister for Railways D V Sadananda Gowda has said that the byelection results in Bihar and Karnataka was not as expected, the results will be reviewed. There is a need for introspection to find out as what went wrong.

Sadananda Gowd 1He said “the BJP has failed in Bellary. At the same time, there is ruling party favour in the state as the Congress is in power. As Congress, Nithish Kumar and Lalu Prasad had entered into an alliance in Bihar, the BJP votes were divided. Hence we have failed to make a mark in Bihar. However, the BJP leaders will introspect.”

The Minister said that Kodagu will get railway connectivity.  “The first phase of the survey has been completed. I have directed the officials to extend the survey to Madikeri. As there is forest enroute, we might face hurdle while extending it to Madikeri. However, there is no problem for providing railway connectivity to Kushalnagar. The State government should respond positively for sharing for railway projects,” he said.
