Bus rams bike at Kallapu, rider dies on spot

Mangaluru, Nov 5, 2017: A 19-year-old student was killed after his motorcycle was knocked down by a private bus at Kallapu on NH 66 near to Thokkottu on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Sayyed Shalal, resident of Ullal-bail going towards the home when a KSRTC bus travelling to Ullal from Mangaluru hit him from behind, resulting in his death.

On Saturday late night, public and shopkeepers in Thokkottu took to street to protest and blocked highway over apathy of national highway authorities for delaying road construction work which resulted in death of bike rider and leaving pillion severely injured they after ran over by a truck. They alleged that unscientific construction of the road has affected the traffic flow, resulting in many accidents.
