Bunder cops arrest one person for thefts in garment shop; 2 others absconding

Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2015:  Bunder Police who have been investigating into the cases of theft of garments from Sagar Dressers at Tokyo Market in the city, have succeeded in arresting one person and are on the lookout for two other persons  including the prime accused who it is believed has fled the nation.

adilThe arrested man is Nawaz Kudroli. Garments worth Rs one lakh  were seized from him.  Meanwhile,  clothes worth Rs 50,000 were seized from the house of another accused.

It is learnt, the garments used to be stolen from the shop since the past three years daily and that Adil (21) who worked in the shop was the prime accused. The arrested man Nawaz owns another shop named Marina Fashions in the same building.

It is learnt Adil who had a duplicate key of Sagar Dressers used to arrive at the shop early, steal some dresses , hand over the same to Nawaz who along with Safwan used to sell it to different shops in the district.

The continuous thefts which however had gone unnoticed came to light recently when a bundle of the stolen dresses which was kept near the generator was noticed by the watchman who  saw the Sagar Dresses address and informed the shop owner.

As soon as a complaint was lodged, Adil reportedly fled the country. According to the owner of Sagar Dresses, the value of the stolen garments  was around Rs 40 lakhs.
