Broad daylight burglary in house at Bejai

Mangalore, Aug 24, 2013:  In a broad daylight burglary, thieves who broke into a house at Bharathinagar behind the KSRTC bus stand at Bejai on August 23, Friday, have decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs one lakh.

 

The theft occurred in the house of one Padmanabha, a labour contractor when occupants of the house were away to attend a function. The thieves had gained entry into the house by bending the grills of the bathroom window. They then broke open the almirah and  robbed jewellery weighing 40 grams, two mobile sets and a cash of Rs 5000.

The theft came to light when the members of the house returned at around 4 in the evening.  A complaint has been lodged at Barke  police station.
