Brahmavar : Woman fatally run over by lorry

Udupi, Sep 22, 2018: In a tragic incident, a woman  was fatally run over by a speeding lorry while she was crossing the road at Brahmavar Junction on September 22, Saturday.

The deceased woman is Geetha (36). She was a resident of Hangarakatte. The mishap took place when Geetha along with her husband Subrahmanya and child was on way to a  clinic.

It is said  the child was with Subrahmanya and they both had crossed the road with Geetha following them. However, before she could cross  the road, the  lorry had hit her killing her on the spot.

The lorry had rammed into the divider before hitting the woman. Sources said a bus had entered the highway on the wrong  side taking the lorry driver unawares.

A case has been registered by Brahmavar Police.
