Padubidri, May 26,2017 : Train services on the Konkan Railway route were disrupted for around two hours on May 25, Tuesday night after several bogies of a goods train proceeding towards Mangaluru from Mumbai got detached near the Ermal-Admar Railway Crossing.
The mishap occurred at around 8.15 when only seven of the 40 bogies of the train passed the railway crossing while the rest got detached. Later another engine was brought from Mangaluru and the remaining bogies attached to it. The train later proceeded at around 10.20 pm.
It was only after Railway staff inspected the track and found everything fine that train services resumed on the route. the Madagaon-Mangaluru inter-city train remained halted at Padubidri following the incident. Meanwhile even vehicular traffic was affected as the gate at the automated level crossing did not open until all the bogies crossed the track.
