Boat house tourism now in Udupi district

Udupi, Apr 11, 2017: The much prized Boat house, a pet for nature lovers now is at Kodibengre and Kemmannu. It started its cruise  here recently to provide a totally a new exotic experience.

 

Sujatha Kamath, the brain behind the venture, told media that this is the first boat house commissioned here. Boat houses are very popular in Kerala.

"This is the first time the concept of boat house has been introduced in coastal Karnataka. The cost is affordable and it provides maximum comfort," she added.  The boat travels amid panoramic landscapes and is a feast to vacationers. The backwaters and sea waves will turn out to be a paradise, especially during sunrise and sunset. 

According to Kamath, the boat house provides varied cuisine and delicacies, including non-vegetarian food. Welcome drink and south Indian delicacies are also included, she added.

The cruise is divided into morning, evening and night. Each cruise can accommodate 35 to 40 people. The boat house contains all necessary facilities like bedrooms, kitchen and toilets. Birthday parties, meetings and workshops can be held on the boat house.

The boat house will make voyage of 10 kms and people who aspire to spend nights are also permitted with sufficient lighting facilities.

Kamath said four hours cruise costs Rs 6,000 and the food will be charged separately. She said that the night stay also costs Rs 6,000 and additional Rs 1,000 for food. The timings will be 11 am to 4 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm.
