Blindness not a deterrent: 2 boys score above 90 % in II PU exams

Mangaluru, May 12,2017: Two  students, one of them from Alva’s College, Moodbidri have  proved that  any form of disability  is no deterrent factor provided they have the will power and determination. Both the students who are visually impaired have  scored  over 90 per cent marks in the II PUC results declared on Thursday and have won laurels.


BlindnessThe distinguished achievers are Prakash Balagannur from Alva’s College and Omkar Pavaskar from Government PU College of Karwar.

Prakash who hails from Kushtagi in Koppala district is being provided free  education and accomodation by Alva’s institution  and has scored a total of 553 marks  thus securing a total percentage of 92 in Arts.

On the other hand, Omkar has scored 94.33 percent marks.  He is also an Arts stream student and has scored 100 in Sociology, and above 90 marks in other subjects excluding English in which he scored 88. He had also secured 92 per cent in SSLC exams.

His mother who used to read  out all lessons to him has been his pillar of strength.
