Black magic case: Two get lifer for killing 3 yr old girl

Mangaluru, April 1, 2016 : The Additional District and Sessions Court  which had earlier convicted an elderly man and a woman in the case of the brutal killing of a three and a half year old child as part of black magic rituals in Yeyyady area, has on March 31, Thursday sentenced the two to life imprisonment.


 Black magic caseThe convicts are Kamalaksha Purusha (80) and Chandrakala (30) from Kampadakodi.  The  victim was the child of a neighbouring couple.

Apart from life imprisonment, the court has slapped a penalty of Rs  50,000 on Purusha. He will have to undergo an additional five years of imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine amount.


The court has also slapped an additional penalty of Rs 10,000 and  sentenced him to  an additional three years of rigorous imprisonment for destroying evidence. He will have to be in jail for one more year if he fails to pay this fine amount.

On the other hand, a fine of Rs. 10,000 has been slapped on Chandrakala and she will have to undergo an additional one year jail if she fails to pay the fine.

The court has also directed that of the total fine amount  Rs 10,000 will have to be remitted to the Government while the rest has to be paid to Firan Kumar Jha, the father of the little girl who fell  victim to black magic.
