Black flag demonstration by DYFI, SFI during Rahul visit to Mangalore

Mangalore, April 5, 2014: Several organisations including the DYFI, SFI and CPI(M) staged a black flag demonstration near the Deputy Commissioner’s office on April 4, Friday denouncing Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and shouting slogans ‘Go Rahul Go.’

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They protested against the failure of the Congress government to ensure safety of women and the protest was organised to coincide with the visit of Congress Vice President to the city.

Fr Vinod Mascarenhas of Vimukthi Trust, Ujire, Shahanaz of Crimes Against Women Forum,  Dayanand Shetty of DYFI Muneer Katipalla of DYFI, social activist Vidya Dinkar, Nithin Kuthar of SFI, Kirana Prabha, B K Imthiaz and others participated in the protest.

Though the protestors tried to head towards Nehru Maidan where Rahul was addressing a public rally, they were prevented by the cops by detaining them.
