Mangaluru, Sep 19,2017 : In a bizarre case, thieves who had stolen 99 sovereigns of gold and Rs 13,000 cash from the house of Shekhar Kunder near Marikamba Temple, Adumaroli when the latter were away , on September 16, have surprisingly returned the stolen valuables on Monday.
It s said at around 3 pm on Monday, two strangers who arrived by a bike threw a packet inside the compound of Kunder. When someone in the house noticed the same and rushed out they found a packet with the stolen gold and also a slip wherein the thieves had advised the family members to place the gold in bank locker. They also stated that they had erred by committing the theft.
Though the identity of the thieves is not known, police say they have gathered some clue.
If Shekhar Kunder is a mechanic, his wife Thilottama is an employee in the Department of Mines and Geology. Thieves had entered the house between 10 am and 1.20 pm on Saturday when the couple were away at work. It is said it was raining heavily when the theft took place.
