Biker critically injured in a bid to escape from excise squad

Kasargod, Feb 10, 2020:   A bike rider sustained serious injuries  in an accident that occurred in his haste to escape from  the excise squad personnel at Chevaru near Paivalike on February 9, Sunday night.

The injured bike rider Naveen of  Bedradka  has been admitted to a hospital in  Mangaluru. The excise officials have found liquor packets in his bike.

The excise officials who acted on a tip off  had signalled the bike to  stop at Permude. However Naveen  had tried to escape forcing the excise personnel to give him a chase. Meanwhile, Naveen’s bike hit the compound wall of a health centre at Chevar resulting in serious injuries to him.

Officials  found 72 packets of liquor in a box and bag in the bike.  Kumble Police and excise officials are investigating the case.
