Bike rally ’Ride to Midland’, trio launches out

Mangaluru, Sep 17, 2019: A bike rally, ‘Ride to Midland’, was flagged off in front of Marigudi in Kaup by Circle Inspector Mahesh Prasad on September 16, Sunday.

The rally has three riders - Videographer Sachin Shetty of Kaup Mallar, Dinesh of Hejamady and Ravi, a photographer from Moodbidri will cover 10,000-km in 35 days.  The trio will ride in their Royal Enfields.

Dinesh runs a service station in Padubidri while Ravi has the experience of taking part in inter-state bike rallies.

Shetty had taken up solo ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 2017, covering 32 days.  Last year he along with his friend Abhishek Shetty had taken part in India to Bhutan riding bikes for 40 days, covering 13,560 kms. Ride to Midland is Shetty’s third bike journey.

Sachin Shetty said ,“I make videos on the lifestyle of the people, food habits and their culture in the places I visit and upload it on Youtube channel titled Shutterbox film. I will try to create awareness on traffic rules during my entire journey.”

“Our daily ride will last 14 hours in a day, average, 1,000 kms will be covered daily. We are also carrying a tent along with us for shelter,” Shetty added.

The route of the trio planned is :  Udupi-Pune-Mumbai-Vadodara-Udaipur-Jaipur-Kurukshetra-Chithkul-Mudvillage-Chandratal-Manali-Chandigarh-Agra-Indore-Aurangabad-Hampi-Bengaluru-Madikeri-Mangaluru-Udupi.  So, best of luck to them.
