Bhasker Shetty case: Top CID sleuths camping in town; probe picks up pace

Udupi, Aug 25, 2016: The investigation into the businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case has gained momentum with several senior officers of the CID  including  CID DIG Sonia Narang and CID SP Dr D C Rajappa camping in the town.

Pratap Reddy, Additional DGP of CID who was also in town on August 24, Wednesday, even held  discussions with SP  K T Balakrishna. He later told reporters that as many as ten officers of the CID are in the town to investigate the case from all angles.

  Meanwhile, it has been learnt that lawyers Arun Bangera and Arun Shetty from Mangaluru will be representing the accused Rajeshwari and Navaneeth Shetty in the case while  Vikram Hegde also from Mangaluru will represent  the other two accused namely  Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra.  It is learnt that the accused priest Niranjan Bhat was yet to find a lawyer.

When the accused were produced before the court, the mother-son duo was allowed to interact with each other upon a request made by Navaneeth’s lawyer to the court. The court too permitted the same. Rajeshwari was even seen speaking to her lawyers.
