Bhasker Shetty case: High Court rules against entrusting Rajeshwari to CID custody

Udupi, Sep 22, 2016 :  The State High Court which has on September 21, Wednesday accepted the petition moved by the advocate for Rajeshwari Shetty, the prime accused in the  businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case, has  issued an order against entrusting her  to CID custody.

Meanwhile, the other main accused Navaneeth Shetty, son of Bhasker Shetty and priest Niranjan Bhat were produced before the Udupi Additional Civil Judge’s Court on Wednesday. Though the CID had sought extension of their police custody period, in the wake of the High court ruling, the judge turned down the request and remanded them to judicial custody till October 3.

Search for remains: On Wednesday, before producing Niranjan Bhat before the court the CID police took him to Alevoor where diving experts searched for any remains in the  water. Sources said during the search a rod used to execute the murder  has been traced.

Meanwhile, there is information that the accused  Niranjan Bhat  who is a mimicry artiste too has been entertaining prisoners while in judicial custody through his mimicry. Sources say many under trials lodged in the Hiriadka  prison  do not want him to be sent to the Mangaluru prison.
