Bhasker Shetty case : Govt decides to continue Shantharam Shetty as Spl Public Prosecutor

Udupi, Mar 13, 2018: The appeal made by Rajeshwari Shetty, the prime accused in the businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case to  withdraw the appointment of the Special Public Prosecutor has been rejected. The government has decided to continue Shantharam Shetty as the Special Public Prosecutor.

His appointment was earlier made by the government following an appeal by  Gulabi Shedti, the mother of Bhasker Shetty.

Hearing through video conferencing : The hearing into the Bhasker Shetty murder case was  done through video conferencing on March 12  at the Udupi Court by the Udupi District  Sessions Judge T Venkatesh. The accused Rajeshwari Shetty, Navaneeth Shetty and Nandalike Niranjan Bhat are presently lodged in the Bengaluru Central prison.

Two other accused facing  allegation of destruction of evidences were present in the Udupi Court.  The hearing was later adjourned to March 20 as the Special Public Prosecutor said the government  has decided to continue him in  the post but he has not yet received the order copy.

Meanwhile, accused Niranjan Bhat’s advocate filed a bail application on March 12 on his behalf.
