Udupi, Aug 23, 2016: CID DIG Sonia Narang has on August 22 visited Nandalike and inspected the residence of Niranjan Bhat, the accused priest in the businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case as the accused had revealed that Shetty’s body was burnt in the Homa Kunda of his house. Narang also visited the Durga International Hotel owned by Shetty along with her team.
It is believed that the CID DIG has herself taken initiative in the probe as the probe so far led by CID SP DC Rajappa has failed to make any headway.
Sources revealed that the CID team was trying to find if any contract killers were engaged to eliminate the businessman. However, CID sources have not divulged any detail.
In another development, the Athithi Bar and Restaurant at Durga International Hotel has been locked as its licence has expired.
The bar was being operated by a third person. Liquor worth over Rs 2.5 lakh has been reportedly seized from the Bar.
