Udupi, Oct 23, 2017: The Udupi District and Sessions Judge Venkatesh Naika read out the charge sheet against the five accused in the businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case on October 23, Monday. However, as the accused denied the charges the date of hearing has been fixed at November 28.
All the five accused in the case including Rajeshwari Shetty, the wife of Bhasker Shetty, Navaneeth Shetty, son and Niranjan Bhat, priest were produced before the court on Monday. Navaneeth and Niranjan were recently shifted to the Shivamogga District Prison after they were assaulted by fellow inmates in Mangaluru jail on September 11.
Srinivas Bhat, the father of Niranjan Bhat and Raghavendra, driver who are facing charges of destroying evidences too were produced before the court.
This time the three prime accused were brought in a vehicle of the Udupi Armed Reserve Police. When the trio were produced before court on August 21, they were brought in an air condtioned car resulting in a controversy that saw the suspension of an SI and three police personnel.
