Mumbai, Mar 4, 2015 : A youth hailing from Belthangady who was on way hometown from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia has been reported missing from the Sahara International Airport in Mumbai under mysterious circumstances. The missing youth is Safan Aboobakker (25).
A case of missing is filed in Sahara police station and search is underway for the missing youth. Safan is the son of Aboobakker of Karpadi in Uppinangady Puttila village of Belthangady taluk. He went missing on February 22.
Safan who worked in Riyadh had left for Mumbai on February 21 by a Jet Airways Flight and was scheduled to arrive in Mangaluru on February 22, Sunday. His family members had even arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport to welcome him but had to return disappointed.
It has been gathered that his relatives have confirmed from Mumbai airport authorities that he had arrived by a flight from Riyadh on February 22 morning. However he did not arrive in Mangaluru by a connecting flight.
CC Cameras at the Mumbai airport have captured footages of Safan clearing customs checking and taking possession of his luggage, but leaving his luggage at airport and walking straight towards the rickshaw stand at around 6.40 am with a handbag. His family members who had even been to Mumbai have found the luggage which Safan had abandoned at the airport.
Safan’s father was reportedly gunned down by unidentified assailants at Riyadh in October 2014.Though the police there are investigating the case, so far there is no clue about the killers. Now Safan going missing under mysterious circumstances has virtually left his family panic stricken.
It has been gathered that Safan had left for hometown from Riyadh following pressure from his mother who was worried ever since the killing of her husband.
