Belthangady : Youth stabs lover who refused to elope with him

Belthangady, April 08, 2021:      A young man who was reportedly enraged  after his lover  turned down his  request to elope with him in order to get married, barged into her house near Laila on Tuesday night and  stabbed her.

 

The accused youth is Shameer (22) of Punjalakatte.   The young woman belonging to the same community was 21 years old. It is learnt the two were in love since the past five years and that Shameer was pressurising the girl to  marry him after deserting her family,

The young woman has suffered injuries in her hands and neck due to the attack. The accused young man has been handed over to the police by the family members of the woman.
