Belthangady: Wild elephants destroy plantation

Belthangady, Nov 10, 2023: Wild elephants have continued their rampage in Belthangady taluk. On November 9, Thursday, they barged into the plantation of Prashanth Kakatkar of Berke in Kalmanja village and have destroyed several plantain trees.

 

Two days ago, wild elephants had destroyed crops at Nerthane near Dharmasthala and at Mittabagilu.

Plantation owners and farmers right from Rekhya to Mittabagilu are severely affected by the wild elephant menace.

The efforts of the Forest Department in driving the wild elephants away to the forest have been futile.
