Belthangady : Sibling fight in drunken stupor culminates in murder

Belthangady, Mar 01, 2019: A quarrel between two brothers in a drunken stupor culminated in the murder of  the elder brother by the younger brother  at Kalenja near Dharmasthala.

The deceased is Sanjeeva (49), while the accused is Jarappa.  The incident took place on Tuesday night.

 It is learnt Jarappa in a fit of anger stabbed Sanjeeva in his head. Though he was rushed to hospital, he breathed his last at a private hospital in Mangaluru on February 28, Thursday.

 It is learnt the two brothers who lived with two other siblings used to frequently quarrel  under the influence of alcohol.

The accused Sanjeeva has been arrested. It is said initially the family members had told the doctors that Jarappa had suffered a fall and was injured. However they revealed the truth out of fear, after Jarappa died.
