The background :  A few days ago  a person named Anil Furtado had lodged a complaint against Walter Kiran at Belthangady police station alleging that   his wife  had  lost contact with him after  Kiran took her along to Israel. But  Kiran who had denied the allegation had argued that Anil’s wife had been to Israel with the help of someone else.

If Kiran had returned hometown on December 11  in view of the December 28 wedding of his brother Alwyn, he was taken into custody by the police on December 20 and reportedly assaulted in the station. The family of Kiran alleges that even Alwyn was taken into custody and assaulted when he had approached the police to get his brother released. It is said the SI had allegedly threatened to disrupt the wedding of Alwyn after the family of Kiran complained against him with the ASP.
