Belthangady: Drunk man bites off wife’s cheeks, eyes, hits her with helmet

Belthangady, Dec 20, 2023: A woman was critically injured after her husband, under the influence of alcohol, attacked her, biting off her eyes and cheeks.

The incident happened on Monday night after Suresh and his wife, residents of the Belthangady area, engaged in an altercation, which turned into the husband attacking his wife.

 

The 55-year-old Suresh attacked his wife with helmet and bit her face, causing bleeding injuries.

He even assaulted their daughter when she came to her mother’s rescue. The frightened girl then ran away from the house.

The woman was found lying unconscious on Tuesday morning. She and her daughter are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

A case has been registered, and the man has been charged with punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means (IPC 323, 324, 326), intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace (IPC 504), and criminal intimidation (IPC 506).
