Belthangady: ’Depressed’ woman ends life along with 2 kids

Belthangady, Jan 04, 2016: In an incident that shocked Belthangady on January 3, Sunday, a woman who was reportedly suffering from depression has ended her life  along with her two kids by jumping into a pond at Nujikallu in Belalu on January 3, Sunday.

The deceased are Sunanda (40) and her sons Bharath (9) and Bhuvith (6). As per the complaint lodged by her brother   Sunder Malekudiya,  Sunanda who stayed with him along with her two kids  as there were no schools  near the house of her husband Srinivas at Balamogaru,  had gone missing on January 3, when he had been to Ujire for some work. As soon as Sunder received a call from his wife stating Sunanda and her kids were not to be seen, he returned home and began a search along with locals when the bodies of the three were found in a pond.

It is said Sunanda had an infection in her uterus and was under treatment for the same. It is also stated in the complaint that  Sunanda always had the fear that she was suffering from cancer and was depressed over it. Belthangady Police are investigating the case.
