In another case reported from Pulithadi in Uppinangady,  some activists had hoisted the Tulu  flag even before the authorities arrived at the spot. Though Uppinangady SI Timmappa Naik who rushed to the spot  directed the people concerned to bring the flag down, it went unheeded as the activists argued they had every right to do so. Meanwhile Puttur ASP PB Rishwanth too arrived and finally  the local Gram Panchayat administration lowered the flag amid stiff protest by the activists. Dr Niranjan Rai of Anti-Netravathi Diversion Action Committee and several other activists were present.
